My two daughters have been at the dance studio for 4 years.  Over this time they have developed a love of dance and music that is a pleasure to see.  What’s unique about Ms. Julie is that she believes in developing the right technique from a young age.  The combination of teaching Ballet and Tap in the same class is an example of this.  I am incredibly happy with the balance of “fun” and dance seriousness! My girls have the best time, but also learn respect for Ms. Julie and their classmates.

I have known Julie Swift for almost 15 years – my daughters, who are now 17 and 13 years old, have been dancing at the Dancing Divas and Dudes studio since they were babies. Julie Swift is not only a very talented dancer and choreographer, but an incredible teacher: her students work hard and are continuously getting better. I have recommended this studio to many friends over the years, and they are as enthusiastic about Ms. Julie as I am. While she is teaching a lot of classes at the studio herself, she has other two incredible dance teachers who work at the studio, specializing in ballet and hip-hop. Julie is constantly on the lookout for new and noteworthy trends and techniques in the art of dance, is inviting amazing professionals to teach classes at her studio, and is preparing/traveling with her school to incredible dance events and competitions – which is always very educational and inspirational. A great place for kids to study dance, without a doubt.

My two daughters have been studying dance at Dancing Divas and Dudes for almost 10 years now. They had gone to a few other dance schools before joining Dancing Divas and Dudes. Based on this experience I can tell that there is an enormous difference in professionalism, teaching skills and enthusiasm between Dancing Divas and Dudes and those other dance schools. Ms. Julie, the teacher and owner of DD&D, truly cares. She has created a close-knit community of students (and their families) and she’s been teaching them the importance of hard work and supporting each other.
DD&D has been giving its students a wonderful opportunity to perform in front of the residents of a nursing home twice a year, for more than 10 years. It has been such a meaningful, valuable, and heartwarming experience for both the students and seniors! These young dancers prepare with 100% of dedication for several months before each concert and give their absolute best during performance.
My daughters have been very fortunate to have Ms. Julie as their dance teacher and mentor. I highly recommend Dancing Divas and Dudes as a unique school where dance becomes a big and important part of kids’ life.

Dancing Divas and Dudes is an amazing dance school.  Julie Swift is a caring, passionate and talented teacher.  She fosters a community of dancers in that all the dancers have developed a close friendship over the years, which I am sure will carry with them for the rest of their lives.  The girls who started the program very young now are growing to be beautiful dancers and human beings.  We were very lucky to have found Dancing Divas and Dudes for our daughter.

My daughters have been learning dance at this studio for close to 10 years. Ms. Julie’s classes, and the community that she built around the studio, have become a very important part of my daughters’ lives. Ms. Julie is a talented teacher who both inspires her students and challenges them to be their best in dance and beyond. She expects a lot from them and encourages them to try their hardest because she believes in them. The end of each year is marked by a big recital that became an annual joyful celebration of dance and children’s accomplishments for all families that participate in the studio.

Dancing Diva’s and Dudes is an amazing studio! I have great respect for Ms. Julie both as a (beautiful) dancer, but also the knowledge she has in teaching and translating her teaching knowledge to children. She encourages & teaches her students to grow, but finds the balance of hard work, play and artistry. She truly makes a difference in the community, brings in some wonderful guest teachers, and puts her heart and soul into the year end recital (which is impressive!). I highly recommend this studio.

Dancing divas will make your child love to dance! Julie is the most dedicated teacher and passionate about dance. She is always willing to spend extra time with my daughter and all her students if they want to practice what they are learning in class. This type of small business with such personal attention does not exist anymore in NYC!

I would highly recommend Dancing Divas & Dudes! The director Julie Swift is impeccable in her training of her dancers as she herself is a wonderful dancer well versed in the ART of Dance! The studio is clean and well maintained , and variety of classes and guest teachers of Broadway make this a wonderful place to DANCE. Wether training to be a professional or just for the joy of it this is the place to do it.

My daughter started with Dancing Divas & Dudes at 2 1/2 years old and cannot stress enough how happy we are with her development and enthusiasm for dance. Julie and her team are amazing instructors and create a wonderful, warm, and professional environment for the children.

My 2 girls have been dancing with Ms. Julie for the past 5 years. It’s a small school so the girls get the attention they didn’t at previous dance schools we had been to. And they learn! Even at the earliest level, Ms. Julie instills in them basics and works to get the best out of them. The big dance recital at the end is a great testament to all the hard work they’ve put in. It’s a great school for building fundamentals and confidence and I highly recommend it.

After hearing great reviews for some time, my two girls started dance with Ms Julie this year.  They are absolutely thrilled with their experience and we are so happy we started classes. My girls continue to learn a great deal and eagerly await for the day of their class. Highly recommend!

I’ve been witnessing remarkable progress my granddaughter has made over several years attending the studio run by Ms. Julie Swift. She is a great teacher who not only has a strong rapport with the children but is also very creative and inspiring. I highly recommend her studio to all parents for their children.

My daughter have been coming here for over four years. She gets amazing dance training and a great community of dancers. Ms Julie, is attentive and shows her all the core values of being a fantastic dancer.  From her she has had the following reinforces — the importance of discipline, perseverance, self motivated effort, self-confidence and most importantly how lessons in dance translate into lessons in life. My daughter is still learning and growing and is so excited to go to dance class.  
The end result is a wonderful end of the year performance that is really top notch!

Our daughter has been learning how to dance at Dancing Divas and Dudes for three years, and it has been a wonderful experience. Beyond dance and music, Julie is teaching our daughter manners, confidence and discipline. She also has taught our daughter empathy. Every year the dance school takes the group to a nursing home. It is a chance to give the elderly men and women that reside in the home an opportunity to enjoy the performance the girls and boys have been learning at the school. I’m glad my daughter has had this opportunity. All in all, Dance and Divas is top notch in every way.

My daughter has been taking classes for 4 years with Miss Julie. She absolutely loves the studio and has been taking ballet/tap and more recently hip hop too. She loves going to her classes each week. When asked if she would try another studio, she says NO WAY! She loves the excitement and enthusiasm at the studio. Miss Julie is a perfectionist and teaches/corrects the girls’ techniques. She takes the classes very seriously. She’s puts on an amazing recital at the end of the year. My daughter is mesmerized by the skills the older dancers possess and tries to emulate them. My daughter likes to practice and listen to all the music that they dance too. The studio has an inviting feel and the parents/caretakers can watch the last few minutes of class. We recommend the studio!

This is my daughter’s third year at the school. She began at age 3 and absolutely loves her class and Ms. Julie. The recital is one of a kind. The students all truly shine and the show brings out all their best.

This is an amazing dance studio!
My daughter has been studying dance with Ms.Julie Swift for the past 8 years and we couldn’t be happier with her achievements. This is a small school, so every child gets a lot of attention. Julie creates such creative and supportive environment that all the girls are extremely enthusiastic and eager to learn. All the teachers are incredibly dedicated and professional. The school’s recital every year is mind blowing, just come and see for yourself. I highly recommend this wonderful place!

My little girl desperately wanted to take a tap class but I really wanted her to stay in ballet. However, with her schedule being so busy I knew we couldn’t do dance more than once per week. I did a bit of searching and was so excited to find a class here that offered both as a combo class. Now she gets a little of both each week and she adores Ms Julie. This class has improved her flexibility and she enjoys coming here each week. I couldn’t be more thrilled about finding this wonderful studio.

Miss Julie is a highly knowledgeable dance teacher with many years of experience both as a dancer and a teacher. She produces incredible dancers. If you child has real talent and or drive, you would be waisting your time at any other dance studio. She makes every child feel included and talented regardless of their strengths or weaknesses.

My 2 daughters have been studying dance for 4 years with Ms Julie and they both love it. She is firm and genuine and caring.  There is no other dance studio in the neighborhood that will not only teach your kids dance as good as Julie but also genuinely care. She cultivates a family environment in her studio and many of her former students go on to dance professionally, getting into the top dance schools in the country and winning national competitions.

I was so happy when a friend of mine told me about dancing divas. I took my daughter to two other well known dance studios (each for a year) in the city and neither compare to what dancing diva and what Miss Julie offers. Going on my 3rd year of hopefully many many more years. In such a busy and transient city ,  my daughters have found themselves what  I had growing up doing gymnastics. My girls have a “dance family ” and they feel apart of something, something that makes them feel amazing. Dancing diva has become their home away from home. What is special about this studio vs the others is that Miss Julie grows with the children and caters to each class rather than following a a set curriculum so to speak. She makes sure to keep it fun, that each child feels that are learning each time they come and they don’t have the opportunity to get bored! What’s even more special is how close a group of strangers become as they become a dance family. Miss Julie creates a beautiful , warm, caring environment. One where the girls learn patience , respect, team work, kindness, respect for their environmwnf as well, motivation, persistence. They learn that achieving goals comes with hard work and dedication, all while feeling loved and enjoying themselves. Beyond all this- Miss Julie creates such beautiful dancers. My daughters are mesmerized by the older girls at the studio, as am I!  I was so sad before hearing about this place because of how transient , in and out , and how monotonous the other studios were. I’m so grateful for  dancing diva and what it offers my daughters.

So , in a nutshell – if you’re looking for a dance studio that will make you the best dancer you can be, while having fun, being part of a “family” – dancing divas is the place for you !

We just moved to NYC this summer and found Dancing Divas and Dudes for our girls to take dance lessons.  Ms. Julie has been so welcoming to my girls and I have seen great improvement from both of them in just a short 2 1/2 months.
